This is my favourite Leonard Cohen song. I was not aware of the story behind it and the Auschwitz orchestra. That speaks to a deep sadness and a celebration of living while we can. It reminds me of Viktor Frankl’s work about the meaning of life.

Thanl you Ivon for your comment and for reading my poems.I listen to LC alot.Yes.that connection is moving and to think he could write of love like this knowing what he did.He did suffer from severe depression.Yes, the meaning offered ny commitment to love ,including friendship and to work,
